Haze

This game is set for release this May 22nd and is developed by Free Radical Design (TimeSplitters) and being published by Ubisoft (to many to mention ;D).

At the moment this game is only slated for a PS3 release, but rumours are spreading that there is a 360 edition in the pipe work.

The story revolves around the Mantel Corporation, a multinational corporation with expertise in bio-medical engineering. There experiments have led to the creation of Nectar, an ability enhancing drug that makes soldiers faster, smarter and harder. The drug also has an hallucinogenic effect that distorts what soldiers see around them, so instead or viewing the battlefield as it is, the can see some idyllic landscape. this is a way of calming the soldiers.

You the player start by assuming the role of Shane Carpenter, a Mantel soldier, but when you witness the effect Nectar is having on your comrades, you switch sides and join with the rebels to try and take down the Mantel Corporation.

The Storyline can be played single player or with up to three other players using split screen of online. Not much has been revealed about online gaming other that it will cater for 16-player games and there will also be Narrative Based Online Missions, which could be very interesting.

As already stated by Ubisoft the game will be fully compatible with the new PS3 Rumble Controller.

God - seems like I have been waiting forever for this to actually be released has had a few release dates so far that have all slipped by - heres hoping they actually release it this time as it does look decent, being by Free Radical has to be a massive bonus as well Timesplitters rocked ;D

Mmmm am liking the new piccies - thanks not seen them before, is looking sweet this although I am a little sceptical about the haze (yellow stuff) you can use to drug people with etc. Should be interesting though.

What makes you say that though? For me it wont be a let down as I know it will be an above average FPS. I cant wait to give it a play through though.

A fair few cynics are expecting this to flop after the huge expectations, but I think that because of all the delays, all the problems'll be fixed by release time. So hopefully it's ace.

To be fair, most of the gaming press want the PS3 to flop and for that reason I want games like Haze, MGS, GTA to an extent, Little Big Planet, etc etc to blow their socks off.

Most of the previews of MGS are superb, with the gaming press loving it. Good start me thinks. ;D

Haze will be like a mixture of Halo and Far Cry I think, the majority of Halo loving press idiots won't admit to that though. ;)

Just need to remember who is making this game. When have they ever failed?

Delays olways bring out the doom sayers.... and I think the gaming press see the PS3 as more of an entertainment system that does a good side line in games ;D

I reckon this game is going to put the PS3 back on the gaming map so to speak and will be the first of many.... and I'm glad about that, because should the 360 become to much of a runaway success then they'll just stop trying.... close competiton is the best kind for us gamers ;)
I just selfishly hope that eventually Haze makes it to the 360.... if not it will be one hell of an expensive game for me to play ;D

The PS3 has a great line up this year and this is only good for PS3 and 360 gamers alike.

How very disappointing..... I was hoping for PS3's answer to Halo as I'm sure all PS3 owners were as well..... what 360 game would it most compare to then??
