I think this is fantastic news.
Sony have designed a break apart controller that they hope will rival the Wii. The controller will be able to break into two separate units that feature motion-sensing functionality.
They are hoping this will convert those dedicated to the Wii over to the PS3. Of course, the PS3 does have a motion-sensitive controller, but it's limited due to issues with it's sensitivity.
There are some good little games that make use of this, like High Velocity Bowling (good old fun ;D), so I'm hoping this will be the real deal.
