Resistance 2

Anybody else getting Resistance fall of man 2 ???

This is the game i've been waiting for most of all the last 6 months. Resistance 1 was the game responsible for getting me into 1st person shooters & online gaming & getting into trouble with the girlfriend for always being in the other room playing it lol.

Was in on the beta & thought it was fantastic. Really liked the new 8 player co op mode, you really have to work together as a team playing this as you all have differant roles to play wether you pick Soldier, Special ops or Medic. Would be a good fun mode for a few of us to party up & play.

I have the US only box set arriving on Thursday thanks to my mates dad who coming over to visit. Don't usually bother with box sets but it includes a chimera figure 8) Big kid i know but aren't we all thats why we play games :D

Can't wait to get stuck into it ;D

I got invited to play the beta but by that time I had packaged it up for moving home (still not moved >:( ). Definitely gonna get this, loved the first one, just itching to move so I can unpack all my lovely gadgets ;D

My son and I did the first one on co-op over one weekend way back, he's too good for my liking, young wipper-snapper :)

Am I the only one who's a bit dissapointed with it. It looks amazing but for some reason I just can't get into it.

The controls are taking ages for me to get the hang on which I think is the main problem I'm having. Online play is great though and probably worth buying the game for if you're into that sort of thing.

First one was amazing, I only just finished it recently after having it sat there for 18 months, hehe.

The second one is a good game, but it just seems to have turned into a GoW clone. Don't think you'll be dissapointed with it though at Xmas.

I rented it out and I am not too impressed. The graphics looks kind of low rez or something. Some stuff looks amazing like the fog effects, but some things like the cars and stuff looks like very low rez textures. It is just my opinion but after playing Uncharted Drake's Fortune I expected a lot more from this title in terms of graphics and fun factor in the game.

I know Uncharted is a different game but it is an old game and I expected at least that quality of graphics from R2, especially considering the hype surrounded this game.


It is just not up to par in my opinion.

I played the beta for this and enjoyed it,but I had in mind that it was a beta I was playing so the full game would surely be better.

It seems to getting mixed reviews on forums,I haven't got it yet,I think my missus is getting me it for xmas,if she has got me it,I shall play it and let you know what I think.

I hope I like it,because I really enjoyed RFOM1,well except for the multi-player,at the time,it was full of very immature american teenagers >:(

Only tried TDM so far and with 60 players it is absolute carnage. Run and gun takes on a new meaning.

Currently addicted to doing the co-op on this...ie playing everyday at some point. Levelling a medic at the moment and just started on the second city maps. Usually play with a few mates (dont tend to play co op with the unwashed public) so if anyone fancys dusting off their copys they're more than welcome to join us. :cheers:

Nope. Co-op isn't story driven like the single player campaign. Basically you have 7 cities (I think) and each of those cities is broken up into 4 large zones. You have to complete specific missions in each zone to advance to the next zone of the city. Once you've completed 3 out of the 4 zones you get an end boss to put out of its misery. Every time you start co-op the first zone is totally random and so are the next two so you never know what to expect. Once you've fully completed 10 full co-op mission campaigns (ie 3 zones x 10 till end boss and win) you can then advance to the next city. Then the next etc.

You do get trophies that are co-op specific though. Ditto for the mp which I havn't tried yet. Huge co-op basically and very fun. :thumbsup:

Not had a ps3 for long, got Resistance 2 with the console, not all that impressed tbh, may get better, I dunno, got Fall of Man last week, and I think it's a far better game, all about opinions I s'pose!!

Having played and finished the sublime Killzone 2, I then went onto Resistance 2 and wasn't initially impressed. But after completing the Prologue and the first chapter I started Chapter 2 and it all changed. Gameplay and level design improved vastly. Story wise I'd say it was better than KZ2 (not graphically). I've just finished the campaign today and really looking forward to going through it again. :thumbup:

BTW not every PS3 owner knows this. If you want to sharpen up the graphics and colours on your games go into Display Settings and change RGB from Limited to FULL and turn SUPERWHITE to ON. Makes quite a difference on some games. 8)

We're having some cracking casual Resistance 2 co-op nights lately with between 4 and 6 players of late. If anyone else plays this game just jump into our games. You'll be more than welcome and it'll be great to get a full 8 man squad. :thumbsup:

Im getting this next week, although the best thing for this game is coop. Ive heard this game is really bad with AI, but ill just have to trust you guys & hope for the best, the first one is said to be better.
