OK so it's not a latest cinema release but I watched Hannibal Rising last night and must admit I think it is better than Silence of the Lambs as it explains the reasons why Dr. Lecter is the way he is. I won't say any more for those who haven't seen it yet but it is definitely one to watch, especially if you like gore

I enjoyed Hannibal Rising..... I was cheering him on as he went off on his killing spree ;D

Saw The Happening the other day....... hard not to say anything about it without giving the whole film away.... All I can say is that M. Night Shyamalan was smoking something when he came up with that idea ;D

I remember having conversations about stuff like that when I used to partake of the Herb

Haha, yeah NEXT is rubbish. It does have Jessica Biel in though, if we're talking about the same film!

I've been looking forward to Wanted for ages, just need to make time to go and see it now!

I watched 'The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford' Last night. Not only does it have one of the longest film titles ever, it is also (or at least feels like) one of the longest films as well! It basically covers the latter stages of Jesse James and his brothers last 'heist' and how the former lived out the rest of his life. Don't let the length of the film put you off though, as Brad Pitt is on top form (think somewhere between his characters in 12 Monkeys and Fight Club - Scary!) and surrounded by a decent cast, all feeling the long-term effects of the crimes they've committed together.

I was half expecting a more traditional western, but the gunplay is sparse and replaced with a more measured character study of a troubled man coming to terms with his past.

If you have the time and patience to commit to this one you're rewarded with a great piece of 'folklore' that still lives on. ;D

Just watched 'Hancock' at the Cinema..... great film, isn't going to set the world on fire and doesn't have anything that makes you go wow, but a great film non the less.... not all comedy either, but then I'm biased as I think anything with Will Smith in it is good........ yes, even wild wild west

Went to see Hancock myself yesterday....fantastic film. Agree with Mayhem that it won't set the world ablaze...but it's brill none the less....highly recommended!!

Am also a huge fan of Will Smith (not enough to like Wild Wild West ), so this was a guaranteed hit for me really!

Watched Diary of the Dead the other night........ waited the whole film for a point.... that never came

George just needs to realise that what people want from their zombie films is the same now as it was 30 years ago, that claustraphobic feeling that the living are not getting out alive and are all doomed... and loads and loads of dead walking people who want to eat everything living....
He had it perfect with Dawn of the Dead!!
the handheld camera bit doesn't really work as it doesn't have the 'home movie' feel of Cloverfield or The Blair Witch project

All in all, it's okay and I've by far seen worse, but it still isn't a great film and no one should go rushing out to watch it :-\

I think the real tragedy here is..... it's a zombie movie, it's not hard to make a good zombie movie, you don't expect much of a story line and your not really worried if the acting isn't up to par...... all you want from it is lots of gruesome deaths and a bit of gore.... two things which Diary of the Dead seemed lacking in to me :-\

The film has an excellent tempo and some really humorous moments.....plus and excellent 15 minute fight between Jackie Chan and Jet Li.......will defo buy this when released!!

I want to see this at some point and am glad to find it sounds as good as I thought it would be.. this weekend is booked however with all things Bat like ;D

Took the girls to see Wall-e on Sunday..... great film, and doesn't seem as long as it is and isn't to cute, however for me the best part was the short cartoon which screened before the main film 'Presto' the tale of a magician his bunny (who is hungry) and two hats that that things can be pulled through one to the other, I seriously haven't laughed that hard in weeks and I think I was beginning to worry the kids

                                The Knight is coming!!
