So what are people’s thoughts on what we are hearing about the PS5?

Same here, will probably get it at some point though as the kids seem to nick my Xbox

I’m a sucker for shiny things so will definitely be picking it up. I’m curious as to what psvr2 will look like more than anything (if anything), but if I could only get one console I would probably pass for the Xbox series x. That things gonna be a beast.

It purely depends on price point & games for me, if it’s as backward compatible as the rumours are saying it is & it’s not too expensive, below £500 then I might get it on launch, if not, I’ll wait for a bundle deal

sony have said there could be limited supplies but not due to the pandemic
if the PS5 comes with on day of release a new full proper Gran Turismo game and wipEout plus RESOGUN 2 and Super Stardust Ultra 2 i might think about it, if not, i'll might get one when they drop in price

I was going to get one on day of release but after thinking about it I doubt I will now as I just don’t get the time to game to justify it.
I may change my mind before release but at the moment it’s a no.
The one thing I hope is we don’t get the same crap we had when the PS4 and Xbox one were released as far too many people turned into absolute tools.
A nice peaceful release without all the fan boys starting.

With my lack of console gaming over the past 2 ish years possibly, I can't justify getting another one & will make do with the PS4.

The only reason for me to get a PS5 would be a good Gran Turismo 7 but as I've been caught out before on racing games (looking at you Turn 10) Forza 5, 6 & 7 I'm going to wait to see what features are in it, especially the race recording features (how long can you record for, can you run a decent league style race, can grid positions be manually altered if someone loses connection after qually but before race), you know, the sort of thing that makes running a multiplayer lobby logical. After seeing the design I'm not impressed but in fairness the look of machine is completely irrelevant for me. What matters is that it has the games I want to play and can do it well, in TRUE 4K not upscaled cheating. I would have to get the version with a disc as I have a large library of blu ray discs and DVD's and the wife would be pissed if she couldn't watch them.
One of the things that annoys me about the PS games in general is the large quantity of big eyed anime style characters in a shitload of the PS only games and as I can't stand anime or the stupid looking characters that massively narrows down the sort of games I'd play on this console.
So for me I could very well get one, but if GT7 and a "soon-to-be-released" successor to the Nathan Drake saga is all that interests me then it doesn't make financial sense to get it; I'll wait and see.

Start a rumour of a high price and then surprise gamers with a lower price, a marketing ploy.
