Xbox / Re: EA Play ( Access) being added to Game Pass Ultimate

I've always wanted a disc drive in my consoles, maybe I'm a traditionalist too but, I also like playing my blu-rays too and the lack of a dedicated True 4K blu-ray drive would really piss me off.
The vast majority of films I stream from Sky On Demand are HD, not True 4K, so does that mean streaming True 4K (and not upscaled 2K or upscaled HD) is considered too much for the UK internet to handle in general? I know that a large number of gamers, not all but a large number, have decent or very decent download speeds but the rest of the UK?? I'd be surprised if the UK in general had decent DL speeds and so many people get sold on things like BT's advert for "best wi-fi blah blah blah" but that doesn't mean shit if you've got a crap DL speed anyway, just saying.
One other thing, how many parents are likely to opt for the cheaper console only to find out that everything has to be downloaded, young gamers who have no say on what their parents get for broadband and up with a capped service of 25-50GB a month deals, they are screwed for downloading games if it is not stored on a disc. Just a few of my thoughts on this.

Streaming I've really only started using a lot in lockdown - I have Netflix and Amazon Prime - but I haven't tried 4k yet. I'm with BT for i'net and get 30Mbps on copper wire not fibre, I'd imagine yes if I want a DL only console I'd want a faster service but mine is at least uncapped and not subject to traffic management. I say though capped internet really shouldnt be a thing at all nowadays, especially given the current climate!

>  only to find out that everything has to be downloaded

I already hear tales from people at work that they have to manage their kids download habits otherwise their network dies as little johhny and stacey are downloading everything!

My fears exactly, the UK in general simply does not have a good enough internet/broadband structure to move into a true digital era; only some of us do.....

Nekrogoblikon - Chop Suey!

Very good! I prefer the original but that was fun  8)

I went on a buying spree of White Lies - always liked them but only had their first album so I now have 4 albums of new (to me) stuff to work through, that song Power and Glory has been a standout so far.

PC too - most of those will go into the Xbox Play Anywhere programme so you can play it on both PC and Xbox.

There's a lot of excitement about the chances of 'Fallout New Vegas 2' by Obsidian, but honestly I think MS should leave them to develop their own ideas still, I'd be more interested in MS finally forcing Bethesda to scrap the creation engine and use something that doesn't crash my Xbox!

I’m not too sure about it yet. Think I’d get it once cheap but I’m not super hyped for it.

The Series S may seem like a decent option if you want to go the digital route but I was listening to a streamer talk about it and he made a lot of sense. Especially when it came to the graphics options in the S which are lower than the spec of the X. As part of that lower spec, when you crunch the numbers (and I can't remeber what he said word for word but) certain games required more VRAM than is available to play at quoted resolution/framerate.I guess time will tell; comparison below.

I think I'm going to wait a while, I like the idea of getting a new console and potentially (once the trade ins start happening) I might pick up a OneX second hand but there's lots of information out there predicting what may happen but I'd like to see what will happen  8)
